Our Story

The Cowlick® story started in 2015 when the founder set out to create the most delicious ice cream in all the land. Long had she dreamed about creating her very own fresh ice cream, packed with fresh ingredients, free from artificial preservatives and added fats.  

Fast forward five years later, a new chapter began, taking The Cowlick® to new heights. Having spent the last 20 years living and working in the Middle East, Lee and Julie have returned home to Devon to take the reins and continue to build on the Devonshire ice cream and sorbet empire.

With the latest ice cream enthusiasts at the helm, The Cowlick® continues to use only the finest ingredients to make the most delicious ice cream, sorbets and doggy ice treats. Using locally sourced organic cow’s milk, organic double cream and an abundance of carefully selected ingredients, we believe there are no boundaries to what flavours can be produced in our Devonshire creamery. All our flavours are made by hand, by real people, with creative minds and an obsession for quality produce. As a family run business, we pride ourselves on being able to supply a wide range of customers across the UK from Michelin star restaurants and leading food outlets, through to individuals looking to provide delicious frozen desserts for guests at their wedding or corporate event.  And not to mention our furry canine friends!

With a passion for great flavours, high quality ingredients and supporting all things local, we aim to push The Cowlick® to all areas of Devon and beyond! And with a real love for dogs too, we can’t wait to help get the ‘Doggy’ range off the ground, and into the mouths of many happy pups.
